The Cornwall Agri-food Council Development Team
The Cornwall Agri-food Council (CAC) represents the views of the agricultural, horticultural, food and land based industries in Cornwall. It is an apolitical group that meets quarterly to debate and progress relevant industry issues.
The Vision of the CAC is to transform Cornwall into the UK’s exemplar agri-food centre of excellence, characterised by innovation, added-value, competitive advantage and environmental sustainability.
The Strategic Goals of the CAC are:
1. Assist restructuring and development of the land based sector
2. Building efficient supply chains
3. Maximise value added
4. Improve business performance
5. Protect and enhance the unique environment
The CAC is recognised by the Objective One Programme, GOSW and the RDA as the coordinating voice of the industry. The CAC Board makes up the majority of the Objective One Agricultural Taskforce responsible for providing a strategic view on proposed European funding schemes.
The Cornwall Agri-food Council’s Strategy for Agriculture, Horticulture, Food and Land Based Industries in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly 2003–2010 was completed and launched during the Summer of 2004. The CAC Constitution was amended and ratified on 20th September 2005.
