David Rodda
Senior Agri-food Co-ordinator
David has been manager of the Cornwall Agri-food Council Development Team since its creation in 2000. Prior to this he worked as the agricultural facilitator for the West Cornwall LEADER project. This experience has provided David with a detailed understanding of European funding streams and how they can support agriculture, horticulture, food and the land based sector in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
His role is divided into three main areas of work which are as follows:-
- Working with the Cornwall Agri-food Council to further the strategic development of agriculture, horticulture, food and the land based sector in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. This involves working with public and private sector partners to develop and design support infrastructure, ensuring that there is a land based involvement and engagement with the Cornwall Climate Change Action Plan as well as ensuring that there is ongoing engagement and discussion with wider economic development initiatives.
- Working with potential applicants to the Rural Development Programme for England to develop quality applications for support. This work is mainly with the private sector and includes food processing, farm diversification and training projects.
- Managing the Cornwall Agri-food Council Development Team. This includes line management of the rest of the team, budget control and ensuring delivery of its outputs to its various funding partners.
